91, of Hackensack, formerly of Paramus, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019. As a teenager Rina was a talented singer and performed with Big Bands in the North Jersey area. She was asked to go on the road with the band but chose to remain in New Jersey where Rina met her husband to be, Andy. Andy had recently returned from duty in the Pacific after WWII. They married and settled in Paramus, NJ where Rina raised her four children. After 35 years as a homemaker, Rina started a new career as a customer service administrator at Sears. She also found time to volunteer at United Way in Paramus for several years. Rina was the guiding force, the heart of the family. The children would often come home from school to find mom singing and dancing. She will be remembered for that brilliant smile that lit up the room. Her gentle, caring way will remain with everyone who knew her.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus.Beloved mother of Mark Turlick and his wife Patricia of Hershey, PA, Lynn Ryan and her husband Tom of Montvale, Jan Turlick of Washingtonville, NY and Paul Turlick and his wife Betsy Forhan of Brooklyn, NY. Devoted grandmother of Sean, Daniel, Michelle, Bram and Lukas and great-grandmother of Julia. Predeceased by her brothers, Bruno, Gino, Paul & Vic(Vito).
Family will receive friends on Friday May 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
