83, of Ridgewood, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Richie was born on May 27th, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to Alex and Mary Nowacki. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1958. In November of 1965, he married Kathleen Schirmann. They raised two children together, Richie and Denise. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy, his mother Mary, his father Alex and his beautiful wife, Kathleen. He is survived by his son Richie, his daughter Denise, and his grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha and Justin.
Richie had a passion for singing. Any time you put a microphone in front of him, he was singing and entertaining everyone around him. He sang in bars, weddings and loved singing karaoke with family and friends. His nickname was “Richie Star.” He also enjoyed working out, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
He touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Richie was a loving and devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He was adored and loved by so many people. The world was truly a better place with him in it. He brought so much light into this world and will be missed more than words can say
All services will be held privately for the family. Funeral under the direction of Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ.
