Benedict Compagnone


82, of Paramus, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Before retiring, Benedict was a Detective Captain with the Paramus Police Department where he received numerous law enforcement awards. He was a member of PBA local 186, an avid golfer and a Army veteran who served in Germany from 1955-1957.

Cherished husband of the late Jeanne (nee Schmidt). Beloved father of Benedict Compagnone Jr. and his wife Randi, John Compagnone and his wife Tammy, Anne-Marie Compagnone-Decie, Richard Compagnone and his wife Nicole and William Compagnone,. Devoted grandfather of Karianne Policastro and her husband Paul, John William Compagnone and his wife Amanda and Caitlin Compagnone and great grandfather of Carver Jean Compagnone. Dear brother of John, William and Richard Compagnone.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Avenue, Paramus. Entombment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Benedict's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 500 Sylvan Ave, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, 07632.
