Joan Martel was my aunt, my mother, Virginia's, best friend and a most beloved family member. She and my Uncle Joe, and three amazing cousins, Joey, John, and beautiful Victoria were always with us through the good times and bad. Our two families shared a special and enduring bond. My deepest sympathy to my cousins and their children. Aunt Joan was especially close to me after the death of my father and brother, and my mother's bout with Alzheimer's. Rest in peace, my dear Aunt Joan. Joey, John, and beautiful Vicki I adore you all. From your loving cousin, Elizabeth

I had the pleasure of taking care of Mrs. Martel in the rehab where she was staying. We bonded over sharing the same birthday. She was so sweet and fun to talk to. She was always so grateful when she saw me and I always looked forward to seeing her. My prayers are with Mrs. Martel's family during this time. God bless her always.
