Simone Gettmann

(nee Hennecy), 84, of West Windsor, formerly of Paramus where she resided from 1954 –2000, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Simone grew up in Paris, France and met her beloved husband Charlie in 1944 during the Liberation of Paris, married in July 1945 and came to the USA in 1946. She became a US citizen in 1948. Before retiring Simone worked as an Office Manager for Dr. Venutolo in Paramus. She was member of the Bergen County French Club and the Princeton area French Club. She was an avid reader and loved to travel to France. Simone loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and was very devoted and proud of her family.
Dear wife of her late devoted husband Carl L. Gettmann (2011) and mother to her late beloved son Carl J. Gettmann (1991). Beloved mother of Karen Gettmann and her husband Louis Marchetta of Princeton, NJ, and Steven Gettmann and his wife Frederica of Elliott City, MD. Loving grandmother of Noelle, Claire and Peter Marchetta and Merena and Eric Gettmann. Beloved sister-in-law of Ruth and John Stigliano.
Funeral Service Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S-113 Farview Ave., Paramus. Entombment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 11:00 AM –1:00 PM.
