George Flynn

On July 4th, George Flynn Passed away at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Paramus, NJ. He was born in Manhattan and grew up in Bayside, Queens. George was a veteran of World War II, he was the recipient of 2 bronze stars and numerous citations while serving as a medic for the 1st division cannon company during World War II. He survived 7 major campaigns and 2 D- Day invasions. In his later years he wrote a book about his experiences, The Way I Remember It World War Two.

George is predeceased by his first wife of 39 years, Ada Jacob and his second wife Virginia McCabe of 17 years and his son Dennis Flynn, Esq. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Cariello and her husband Phil of Saddle Brook, NJ, son George Flynn of Great Neck, NY, daughter Donna Von Braunsberg, his grandchildren Kerry Wyrovsky and her husband Bill, Tara Carota and her husband Dave, Sharon Cariello, Eric, Brian and Shana Von Braunsberg. George is also survived by his 2 great grandchildren William and Kathryn Wyroksky.

Funeral Service Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 9:30 AM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S-113 Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM.
