died on Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Ridgewood, NJ, he was 85. Born in Paramus, he was raised in the Celery Farms on Winters Ave. Richard was drafted into the US Army; he served 2 years and was a very proud of his country. He would always display the American Flag in his yard and on his cars. He worked as a Chief Lineman with PSE & G for 32 years. He was a devoted Elks Lodge member in Paramus. Also a longtime volunteer Fire Fighter with Company #1. Richard loved his home, tractor, garden, cigars and was a friend to his surrounding neighbors.
Devoted husband to Stella K. Skie, who passed away 11 years ago. He deeply missed the sweetheart of his life. Survived by his brother William Godleski and his wife Stella, Sister, Francis Gilmour, many nieces and nephew and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Please join family, friends and neighbors for a Funeral Service on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 9:30 AM from the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S-113 Farview Ave., Paramus, to celebrate his life. Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at RC Church of the Annunciation, Paramus. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Paramus Elks, BPO No. 2001, 200 State Highway #17, Paramus, NJ 07652.
