Ruth G. Warnaar

(nee Bartholomew), 99, of Rochelle Park passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010. Born June 12, 1910 in Brooklyn, NY she had been a resident of Rochelle Park since 1919. Ruth was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Rochelle Park. She had been a member of the Women’s Guild of the 3rd Reformed Church in Hackensack, the David Demarest Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the NJ Chapter of the Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America, Past President and life member of the Midland School PTA and the Hackensack High School PTA, and a member of the Rochelle Park Historical Society. Ruth was the first women to serve on the Rochelle Park Board of Education - two terms, one as president. She had been a 30 year member of the Bergen County Council of Girl Scouts. She was also active in the Rochelle Park Little league and managed their concession stand for 15 years. In 1993 Ruth was honored with the Bergen County Volunteer of the Year award.

Beloved wife of the late William Warnaar (1980).
Devoted mother of Jane (William) Brock, Nancy (Gary) Baker, and the late RuthAnn Warnaar (2005). Loving grandmother of eight and great grandmother of seventeen. Ruth is also survived by four devoted nephews. She was predeceased by her three sisters Clara (1984), Joan (1977), and Jane (Jennie) (1920).

Funeral service on Sunday, February 28, 2010, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S-113 Farview Avenue, Paramus.
Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY at 3:00 p.m.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in her memory to 3rd Reformed Church, 67 S Prospect Ave, Hackensack, NJ 07601, or the Rochelle Park Fire Department, 151 West Passaic Street, Rochelle Park, NJ 07662-3125, or an animal shelter of your choice.
