75, of Englewood Cliffs formerly of Sunnyside, Queens passed away Monday, February 1, 2010. He ended his time on this earth with his dearly loved family and friends by his side.

He was born on August 23 1934 to Matusa and Mara Gigic in former Yugoslavia. One of eight children he spent his early years in the poverty-stricken village of Korisa. His strong character was chiseled during years of service in the Yugoslavian Army and work as a hired guard for the British Army. In his continuing years his ambition led him to travel Europe in search of a more fulfilling life. During his extensive journey he collected life long friends and abundant memories. The same ambition that forced him out of Yugoslavia soon pushed him to move to America.

In the United States his restless spirit continuously advanced him from occupation to occupation and moved him from state to state. The impressive stories gathered during these years were cherished and told to whoever was lucky enough to hear them. In 1981 he met and married Stephanie Mikac from Ivanovec, Croatia. He soon after fathered his only son, Sasha Cajkovich on June 27 1984.

He toiled with numerous occupations to successfully support his growing family. Throughout his life he sponsored many of his European friends and family to join him work and play in America. He was known for his generosity which had a profound effect on a countless amount of people.

Before retiring, he was a real estate investor in New York and New Jersey. His initiative drove him to be the founder and owner of numerous businesses including a modeling agency, grocery store, travel agency and property management company. His son, Sasha is following in his father’s footsteps and continuing his legacy in entrepreneurship. Stan lived out the last years of his life with companionship from his family, friends and beloved dogs.

Devoted father of Sasha Cajkovich and his wife Nikolina Cejvan of Englewood Cliffs. Stanislav is survived by his ex-wife, Stephanie Mikac of Englewood Cliffs.
Dear brother of Gordana Milic of Hawthorne, Ljubomir Gigic, Zorka Jevtic, Dobrila Arsic all of Serbia and the late Vesko Gigic, Dusanka Nikolic and Djordje Gigic. Loving uncle of many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews in the United States and Serbia.

Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 06, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church, 119 Carlisle Avenue, Paterson. Interment Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah.
Visiting hours Friday, February 05, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S113 Farview Avenue, Paramus.
